GAELIC COACHING - TAKE NOTE

First day of coaching will be next Thursday 5th march - prob for most of the day - will let u know later. Please take me in 5 euro before Tuesday for this course. The school will cover the other 5. Its a great course. Unless u are willing to put in the work for this course don't do it!! Numbers must be confirmed by Tuesday so no money no course. Please have this in. Any difficulties please let me know asap. Pass the word around.

12km covered - a massive well done!!

Well done to all today - 12km covered - great stuff

We were very lucky with the weather

The staff at Glenveagh (for the most part) were very very impressed with the group - so a massive well done - no more than I expect anyway!

They even said that they were going to phone the Principal to tell him how great our students were - great to hear so a massive well done - especially to 2 girls that were in the visitor centre talking to the girls at reception - we have not worked out who they were but the girls in reception were very impressed with you! If anyone can let us know who they were - that would be great!

However from my point of view I was not overly happy with a few things - and I know that it is just a number of students spoiling it for the rest!

Rubbish - leaving rubbish anywhere - that's not on!!! well done to the people who picked up the rubbish - it did not go unnoticed!!
Not being able to line up properly - not on!
And finally - I found that some people were negative about today - I spent time organising the trip to get u out of school while also keeping the cost down for you - this I was taking from your evaluations. I know that walking is not for everyone but there is no harm in doing it an odd time. I suppose what I am saying is that a wee bit more appreciation would go along way for myself and the other teachers who are on the trips with u. WE CAN ALWAYS IMPROVE OUR TY PROGRAMME - I KNOW THAT AND I DO TRY TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS - BUT JUST COMPARE OUR PROGRAMME WITH OTHER ONES IN THE AREA AND I AM SURE THAT YOU WILL AGREE THAT U DO GET A GOOD VARIETY! I DONT THINK THERE IS ANY HARM IN ME REMINDING YOU OF THAT NOW AND AGAIN. PLEASE APPRECIATE WHAT IS DONE FOR YOU INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL

Finishing on a positive - I hope that you enjoyed today and that you got something out of it

Wednesday, 25 February 2015

Tomorrow key things - please read/ scrap books outstanding

After registration just go on out to the bus - no issues - take your time

If you have Celtic money - last day for it - take it to my office

If you have any other money outstanding please take it to my office as well - this must be paid!! (anyone that has not paid for Ji Jitsu)

There is still a number of people who need to see me with regard to scrap books etc - please see me asap - u know who u are and I am going to stop u going on trips if I do not see this work!!

Please make sure that you have a bag that u can carry stuff in tomorrow - you will be doing a lot of walking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U will need a good bag-pack!!

Talk on Monday/ Build a Bank / Drama on Friday

There will be a talk next Monday at 1150 in Demo Room for all TYs from African teachers - they will be supported by a school in Dublin (Portmarnock) and 4 TY students from that school. This group will be about the school for the day.

Thanks

There will also be a small group of our TYs working with them for the afternoon as well and they may be out of class. We are trying to develop links with other schools. Thanks - list will follow

Build a Bank is also on Monday - group of 6 students away - the very best of luck to u and I hope that all goes well - I know that you have done a lot of work for this so enjoy the day and the experience and good luck

Best of luck on Friday to our Drama group as well - again enjoy the experience and best of luck
Please make sure that you have cleared this with work experience and Miss Corless - thanks

Parent -Teacher meeting this wed - points for parents/guardians

The parent - teacher meeting for TYs is on this wednesday - please take note of the following points

For any module subject that you have please tell your parents/guardians to go to the teacher/subject that you had before Christmas (in other words the subject that you had for the longest time) - there is no need to go to the teacher that you have had since Christmas unless your parent/guardian feels there is a need to.

I have two classes for PE - please let your parents/guardians know who your PE teacher is so that they can go to the relevant person

And finally - I am the TY Co-ordinator - there is no need for all parents/guardians to come and see me unless they feel there is a need to - if they feel there is a need - of course tell them to come and chat to me

Please inform your parents/guardians of the above points and this will leave it a lot easier on everyone

Many thanks

Money outstanding!!!!

There is a few students who have money outstanding for the last number of weeks - if this money is not paid this week - then you will not be going on the next PE activities which start the week after next - if it is not paid then you will stay at school while the rest of your class go on the activity - please get this sorted asap!

PE for Tuesday!!!

We will be in the Sports Hall - please be there for the usual time (1.50)

Have PE gear and be ready to run!

Thanks

What you need for Thursday

Weather permitting - we are all going away on Thursday

We will be outdoors - I am trying to get you all out for a trip while at the same time keeping the cost down - so we are going to be using the places that are around us!!!!

Cost will be 2 euro - this is for the bus

You will need warm clothes, hat, scarf, gloves, walking gear, runners that you will not mind getting wet or dirty, waterproof gear as the weather is not given good. A change of clothes might be a good idea as well.
You will need a packed lunch with you and something warm if you can manage it - a flask if you have it - you will need enough food for the day. We may get a chance to stop at a shop if we have time - we will see!!!

We will leave at 910 - meet in the canteen after registration - you do not need to wear your uniform - we will be back for the buses

I hope that this covers everything

Thanks

Gaelic Coaching course - are u interested????

The following information is related to a Gaelic coaching course coming up - all you need to do is read the information attached so that you know what the course is about and if interested please give your name to me asap - it is an advantage to have a Gaelic background as u will be coaching Gaelic but not necessary as the whole idea is that you can learn along the way. U must be willing to put in a good bit of work in preparation for the 2nd part of the course as well. This is a very good course and the TYs who did it last year got a lot from the course. Great for the CV.
