PE tomorrow and thursday

Leave the school at 130 sharp - out the front to the buses - u can get changed before we go - get lunch also - it will cost 5 each - this covers the bus and the activity - please bring warm clothes as it will be cold - no shorts - hat gloves and scarf may be needed!!!

Think thats all u need to know

Thanks

BEO

Beo is not happening on Thursday - class as normal - just too short a time to get things organised

Thanks

Module Change over

Just to let u know - Any module change overs will happen the first day back after Christmas - Many thanks

PE

Details to follow - keep a close eye

Celtic trip

I know that we have not talked about it much but please be thinking about it over xmas - we usually org a trip to a Celtic match in Feb/March time so if u are interested you may get saving - it usually costs about 75 sterling - may vary slightly! U have been warned so get saving if interested. If anyone would like to look at what would be a good game then please just let me know

St Vincent de Paul

Instead of doing a secret santa which is sometimes done in other years it is now a tradition that TYs do a collection for the local st vincent de paul charity group

We will do that on Wednesday of this week during registration - it is up to you to give whatever u can - no pressure but if everyone gives a little bit then this will be a very good deed done for Christmas - if I could get someone to help me to collect this money that would be great - please see me asap to help out - many thanks

Portfolio/scrap book

Hi - I am in the middle of sorting your reports now so I am not gonna get a chance to look at portfolio/scrap books this week

BUT PLEASE BE WARNED THAT ON THE FIRST WEEK BACK AFTER XMAS I WILL BE MEETING EVERYONE INDIVIDUALLY TO LOOK AT YOUR PORTFOLIO AND SCRAP BOOK - PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT U ARE READY AND THAT U HAVE EVERYTHING UP TO DATE - THE SCRAP BOOK DOES NOT HAVE TO BE FINISHED - AS LONG AS THERE IS A START MADE ON IT

THANKS

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING U AND LOOKING AT YOUR WORK

IT IS VERY OBVIOUS FROM THE REPORTS THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE DOING A SERIOUS AMOUNT OF WORK (A MASSIVE WELL DONE) AND SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT DOING ENOUGH (THIS MUST CHANGE)

THANKS

Buying back strikes

Please see me asap - otherwise this will not be done

3 positive notes - buys back 1 strike

Thanks

I know there are a few people so please see me this week - thanks

Video - please remove

There was a video posted last week of us in carlingford - it included the teachers in it - this is not acceptable - please make sure that this is removed from wherever it was - please make sure that u have permission of people before u post something up on the internet. That is very important. Can somone please just let me know that this has been taken down. Teachers give up their free time to go away on trips. Taking videos of teachers or students without their permission is not on. Please make sure that this does not happen again. thanks.

A massive well done

I would just like to say a massive well done to everyone involved last night - it was a great great night - I am not gonna mention anyone as I would not like to leave anyone out - well done to all involved (so many people did different jobs which made the night possible) - it was a great night - a special mention to all the teachers who drove the night as well - be very proud - my kids loved it!!!!!!

Msg from Miss McDonnell on Craft Fair

Pictures are facebook... Just a quick message to say HOW FANTASTIC most of the event management group was last night in helping clean up and get us and other business out of the school. I especially have to mention, Chloe speer, Rebecca Davis, Samantha Gallagher, Conor Roarty, Bailey, Maia Nyhon, Deirdre mc Daid, Cahir O Connor and I know I will have prob forgot someone but without these kids it truly wouldn't have been a success. U were my lifeline. I just wanted to seng out a msg now as I know I won't see u over the week and I wanted to give u this recognition .

Mobiles /BEO/Rooms/Mini-company/People not going

Please take mobiles with u to Carlingford - there were a few questions about this

The BEO group - a lot of miscommunication between various parties - we will have a chat between all of us when we are away for 5 mins - thanks - see if we can sort a few things out - thanks

Rooms for Carlingford - hopefully sorted - everybody be nice to one another - thats the idea of the few days away - please think about your actions/words and as I said make a massive effort to get on with everyone

Mini-company - canteen looks amazing (well done to TYs)  and I am sure that tomorrow night will be excellent (good luck to all)  - please do your bit for your mini-company - do not leave it to other people - thats not fair!!! TY is about chipping in and doing your bit. Everybody must do the same.

Please note - there are a few people not going to Carlingford because of reaching the qota of strikes (and a few people going because of buying back strikes at the last minute) - I know some of these people may be close friends but the rules have been in place since the start of the year - as I have said all year if you do the work and behave you will gain the rewards - if you do not do the work and do not behave then you will not get the rewards. Rules are in place for a reason. Hopefully all students will learn from this - there are consequences to your actions and behaviour.

Get ready and enjoy Carlingford

Work experience - important

Please confirm your 2nd work placement before this term ends.

If absent from work on 12.12.'14 a suggestion is that you'll go in on the 19th.  All schools (including primary schools) have a half day on the 19th and teachers may be glad of your help on that day.
Remember to say thank you to your employer/staff....shake hands, maybe give a thank you or a Christmas card (spell check).
You want to leave as positive an impression as you did when you began :)

Ensure your 1st placement yellow sheet is filed carefully in your portfolio.
Finally (!), if a school event prevents you from getting your sheet signed next week then I'll sign it for you in PFW class on Jan 08 (2015).

Thank you all for your co-operation to date and Happy Christmas,
M. Corless

Positive notes - please be very careful!!!!

It has been brought to my attention that some students may have been annoying teachers for positive notes (putting pressure on the teachers) - You are not allowed to ask for the positive notes - if you get one - great - hopefully this will be easier on everyone. I obviously am encouraging you to get positive notes - but only when one is warranted and only on the teachers terms. If I hear of any asking/pressure then the positive note will not count.

Thanks

Monday and wednesday arrangements - let your parents/guardians know - thanks
