PE for week - very important

PE for next week (3rd Feb) -
Tuesday class - due to mocks - u must be down in the community centre in milford for 2pm on Tuesday - if u are not sure where this is - then come and ask me or ask someone from the town - u can not leave the school before 140 and that leaves u loads of time to be down there - please make sure that u change at school and that u are ready to go down to the community centre in your appropriate PE gear - u are doing ji jitsu .Please pay the money - last week for this!!!  This has to be paid by next week. Please behave yourself on your way down the street as I know u will.

Any student interested in going to Lourdes with the Raphoe Diocesian pilgrimmage in May should speak with Mr Lynch next week. The school has two places on the trip.

Guitar piece for portfolio/all subjects included and signed

Please note that each subject area must be represented in the portfolio. If for example you did a practical piece for guitar - then that is fine but please write up a sheet/note and put into the portfolio explaining this. Each sheet/note must be signed and graded by the teacher. This just keeps everything right.

If you have practical pieces for woodwork etc  - this is also fine - make sure and take all your work into show us and then just let us know in the portfolio what you have done. Make sure a grade is on all work.

Remember each subject area must be represented in the portfolio and each piece must be graded and signed.

Students for open night - need help

There will be 2 different open nights on next Monday and Tuesday evening - from 730 or so for 1 hour.

I need a number of TY students to come in and give me a hand - it will simply involve setting up a number of PE activities and letting students have a wee go at them. It prob makes sense for students who live locally to help out. I need a certain number for Monday night and a certain number for Tuesday night. If u have the time please help me out. Come and see me asap and give me your name. many thanks.

Celtic Trip

We are planning a Celtic trip for Sat 21 March v Dundee United

The cost will be 75 sterling approx. This includes all travel and match ticket - its over and back in the one day. Please let me know asap if you are interested. We need certain numbers before the trip can run so please let me know if interested. I will prob look at collecting a non-refundable deposit the first week after mid term break. This will be 40 POUNDS STERLING. Please note the money must be in sterling.

All that are left - bring in work

Know that last week was very disrupted - anyone that I have not seen please have all your work with you on Monday - no excuses - read over other blog messages if you are not sure what you are required to have. I will come and find you on Monday when I need to see you.

Just to let you know that I am away at a conference on Thursday so I will not be able to see anyone on Thursday.

A reminder to the TY students who are participating in the sampling at LYIT on Wed this week:

 

Please bring €2 for the bus, to Ms McGee’s office tomorrow after registration.

 

Regarding arrangements for Wednesday you have class as usual until 9.30am  – please ask the teacher’s permission to leave class at 9.30 sharp and proceed to the bus.

 

School uniform must be worn

 

You may bring a packed lunch or you may buy lunch at the canteen in the LYIT.

 

We leave the Letterkenny Institute of Technology at 2.30pm and return to school.

Important points - end of year interview

Anyone in N Orla, Odhran and Oliver who I have not seen please have all your work with you on Monday - have your front cover sheet signed - have your scrap books started. Thanks


Please be careful with regard to attendance / lates - this will count against you at the end of the year - make a big effort to be here all the time and to be on time - no excuses.

Please also be careful with regard to negative notes in the diary - 3 = a strike and this will count against you at the end of the year

Positive notes will gain you marks at the end of the year and can help you to buy back strikes - please see me if you need to buy back a strike

Please make a massive effort with regard to everything now and try and get the most from the year - remember 'you will get out of something what you put in'

Work experience - important

Re:  Work Experience

All students were reminded (before Christmas) on this blog that the yellow record of attendance from placement 1 must be now included/filed into your portfolio. 
Marks are awarded for this in your eventual interview and it is proof of your attendance should you apply for any part-time/holiday work in your future.

Please note that the necessary paperwork for placement 2 will be issued to all tomorrow - Thursday, 08 Jan.
It includes a letter of thanks and school holiday dates, the insurance certificate and a new record sheet for attendance.

Religion retreat - Odhran/Oliver

Religion retreat in Ards Friary next Tuesday 13th of January for N.Odhran and N.Oliver. Bus leaves school at 8.30 am and we will be back in school by 3.45 pm for the bus home. Please give €10 to either Ms Connaughton or Ms Garvey by the end of this week. Lunch is included on the day.
